Backup & version history

4 questions

What is auto backup and how much space does it use?#

Auto backup keeps a copy of an app's APK every time it is updated, so you can go back to an older version later. Each kept version takes about as much space as the app itself, so delete records you no longer need in Version History.

How do I choose which apps get backed up?#

Open Version History → menu → Select apps and tick the apps you want to watch. The free version can auto-back up a limited number of apps; Pro removes that limit.

How do I go back to an older version?#

Open Version History, pick the app, choose the version you want and tap Install. Android does not allow downgrading over an existing app, so uninstall the current version first — its data will be removed.

What does Version Compare show?#

It compares an installation package with the version installed on your phone: version name and code, file size, target SDK, whether the signature matches, added and removed permissions, and component changes. It is the quickest way to check whether a downloaded file is genuine.
